Welcome to 7th Grade Civics and Economics! Brace yourself for a challenging final quarter of what we hope will contain many positive educational experiences for you.
For this last month of the school year, students will be finishing preparations that will help them master the State Civics EOC on May 9th. We will then dive into one last unit on U.S. and World Geography. We plan to finish out the year with students once again turning their attention to the courtroom, as they will be participating in a mock jury trial on an actual civil case that was litigated some years ago.
So, there is only one more unit assessment, only one more current events HW (due 5/17) and a few more classwork grades before we close out the gradebook! This year has had its share of memorable moments, and I am happy to have experienced them with you.
*The online textbook can now be accessed through Clever. Find the "Ed" app. You may need to switch over the textbook from the World History book from last year to Florida Civics by hitting the drop down arrow after clicking on the "Discover" tab.
Supplies to have everyday for all my Civics classes:
Pocket folder; blue/black pen or pencil; blank, lined, loose leaf paper (along with a charged chromebook)
Civics tutoring (or study hall sessions) will be available for struggling students in room 124 from 3:30 - 4:00 for just two more Wednesdays this school year. It is recommended that struggling students attend these tutoring/study hall sessions in an effort to raise their low Civics average. Here are the last dates for the fourth quarter: 5/8 & 5/22.
